Plastination is the pseudo science of replacing a corpse's tissue with plastic. Apparently this procedure takes about a year. The result is a skinless plastic corpse. These are often posed doing things that living people do- like kicking a ball for exmple. Then they are put on display in both art and science mueums around the world.
Even though people elect this procedure while they are alive as part of their estate planning, I find it an offensive way to handle a corpse.
A hundred years ago there may have been some scientific merit to this. But nowdays with MRI's etc there is really no point.

What do you think about plastination? Is it science? Is it art?

This relatively new procedure is charming and intriguing to some, disgusting to others. What kind of crazy BS will they come up with next? It is a testament to the varieties of human experience. Obviously, scientific knowledge is used in the process, and the end result looks like art. It seems to me a strange but harmless practice, one of those things you have to form your own opinion about. As for me, I will end up as ashes. Plastination is not interesting to me.

I think all the methods employed to understand the workings of the human body are legitimate. I would be more than happy to have my corpse reduced down while providing a mold in which to extrapolate information about the inner workings of my species.
We are all too precious about what "we" are, and not concerned enough with what we may do to further the evolution of our kind.
Sadly, plastination will not assist in the ethical refinement of the human heart and mind...

It is neither science or art. It is a method to assist in scientific study and a beauty to behold in as much as it echos the hidden landscape of the human body.

Yea. We only have too much valuable data to gain from this. Perhaps much better than an actual cadaver.
