I usually wear my make up without any foundation. I've been staying away from it eversince I started wearing makeup since long term usage of foundation causes enlarged pores. What I usually use as substitutes are:
A. GOOD primer (this is to make your make up last longer - and to avoid getting greasy after a couple of hours. I can't emphasize the term "good" enough because you really need to look for the primer brand that suits your skin.)
B. ordinary face powder.
Hope this helps! :)

Well what it sounds like you need to do is either just go with powder (which always makes my face feel dry) or what I would suggest is take a day and go up to the mall. Get a few make overs. The ladies out there want to sell you there makeup. So go find a "light" foundation. I wear covergirl and I love it. I also use the loose powder which helps keep the foundation on and when I get tan all i have to do is add bronzer and not change my foundation color. I hope some of this helps.

Foundation is a key part in makeup these days. Not only is it a base for your face, but a foundation with a sunscreenis important for everyday you go outside (even on partly cloudy days!). Here are some tips so you don't feel like a 3 layer cake everyday.
Put the foundation on very lightly. Use a mousse foundation or a powdered foundation.
Or use a tinted moisturizer with an SPF. Sometimes these can get expensive. You can also use your favorite liqid foundation and mix it with some of your favorite face lotion every morning so the look is not so heavy.

foundation plays a very important role in skin care. it is important for you to cleanse, exfoliate, freshen, tone and protect your skin every day if you want it to look great. maybe you already have good skin tone and don't understand how foundation will benefit you, but just as you protect your body from the elements by wearing clothes, foundation will protect what i see as the most important impression -- your face, against the elements. not only that, but it will set a base for a flawless look once you apply your makeup. there are lots of different coverages of makeup out there. you can do anything from sheer to full coverage. the sheer will be a light amount of coverage but will still bring the great benefits of foundation. if it has been a while since you have tried to wear foundation, then i have to say, a lot has changed in the industry! there is definetely SOMETHING out there for you!

There are so many new kinds of foundations nowadays. I, myself, don'tlike teh way it feels either. So, what i do, is i put dots of foundation on different parts of my face. Then I wet my hands & blend teh foundation. It feels so lightweight this way & my skin can still breathe. But, I use Mary Kay foundation. It doesn't take much so the tube last me awhile. Besides u shouldnt be able to see a line to where u put on makeup. U want it to look natural. They also make lighweight foundation & stuff called bare minerals.

I am 37 and I always do that. I used to wear foundation, but now I hate to cover my face with a foundation. Use a bronzer or a self tanner to get some coloring. Also, use a concealer to cover up the flaws and you will be all set.

I never used foundation. And it's OK. I'm 22. My mom also doesn't use foundation, and she looks fabulous. People never believe that we don't use it.
It depends on the way your skin is. If you use moisturizer and all the cosmetics needed by your skin (cleanser, toner, moisturizer according to your kind of skin, anti-aging cream, masks, etc), than you should look fine. Also, smoking makes skin ugly. So, if you never smoked or had problems with your complexion you should have the kind of skin that doesn't need foundation to look good.

Yes! I hate foundation. I use it in spots if I have a blemish, but other than that I go bare.
