artwork" to your songs info. My question is, does this take more space to have these pictures attached to a song's info? I reastically don't need the pictures, but it would be a cool addition to my song's info, but I won't do it if it takes up more space than NOT having a picture there. Does anyone know?

Does artwork in a song's info from Itunes take up space on your ipod?

Yes it does take extra space, at least on my nano it did. Its basically a picture file attached to your mp3/mp4 file so it takes up as much space as a picture would normally take up on your computer.

The guy above me is wrong. The pics are jpg's or .jpeg's so they do take up about 500 killobytes of space-2 MB of space, roughly half a song.

Of course it does. That info has to be saved somewhere and the ipod memory is its only choice. Lots of pictures = fewer songs.

it is imbedded as PNG, but the actual size will, of course, depend on the resolution of the artwork you add so it does take space
