I hear them all the time but i'm from the u.k so i don't get ya!

Ok well I really didnt know what "emo" meant until like yesterday when my cuzin told me. Its means "emotional". And prep is basically me! preppy clothes, (abercrombie,hollister,american eagle,etc.) preppy attitude, and just all around preppy! Its like polo's and abercrombie jeans

(prep=its more of what you look and act like rather then something like "emocional")

I'm from the uk and emo is a big thing here or at least it is where i live

Its a style of dress and is linked to a genre of music- emo epopel arent depressed and dont want to kill themselves so really this is completely wrong

I appreciate the people that say emo people are trying to be individual sadly everyone thats emo dresses the same but i dont think thats any reason to be saying bad things about them

after all everyone should be appreciated for themselves not the way they dress or the music they listen to

preppy isnt really something we have in england i think you know when you see the american high school movies and youve got the main football player dude- he dresses preppy and just like my earlier comment about emos

its just a style of dress not a direct correlation to the person that wears them

well, its just stereotypes that ppl made up. emo stands for emotional, they pity themselves, are depressed, wear black eyeiner and very tight clothes, they listen to emo music that has lots of screaming and it talks about killing urself, etc... preps are those kinds of ppl who love shopping and who are like omg like totally! and who think they're all that they listen to whatever music is "in" and they think theyre the most popular. those are just the stereotypes but u know ppl arent really all like that.
