I am on the contraceptive pill microgynon 30. I have bad IBS so most of the time ı am running back and forward to the toilet. I went to the doctor to ask if it could reduce the affectiveness of the pill and she assured me it was not possible unless I am being sick.
I am feeling really tired and run down and a little bit sick and am worried about getting pregnant.

Am I panicing for nothing or is the doctor wrong?

I know it says it is effected by both but 2 doctors and a nurse say it isn´t.

I too am on microgynon 30 and had been for 4 years, I was also diagnosed with IBS 5 years ago. The only time I became pregnant was when I stopped taking the pill. The doctor knows what she is talking about, but if you are worried use extra protection to put your mind at rest.
IBS can make you feel run down, if you are like me and have to constantly watch what you eat and have to think where the nearest loo is all the time. The worst for me is the wind, so sometimes I feel down. Mebeverin are very good tablets for IBS

i don't think your panicking for nothing. It is fact that the pill is dangerous. Personally (i'm single, 26 and couldn't be further from wanting kids) i would prefer to deal with the consequences of a condom rather than the pill. The worst that can happen from condoms is that you get pregnant. However, the after effects of the pill can be extremely damaging and risky for health reasons

If you check the leaflet that comes with your contraceptive pills, it usually says that vomitting or diarroah after taking your pill can lead to it not working properly. Use condoms if in doubt...unless of course it's too late which will just throw up even more questions! Good luck!

If you are that worried about it, then use condoms and the pill, or you could even......gasp....not have sex until you are feeling better.
