there was WWl and about 40 years later there was WWl in the early 40's. In that aspect, we are overdue. And with the way things are becoming, we are well on our way. Along with a possible reinstatement of the draft.

Your main concern is not the likelyhood of war , you are afraid of being called up to serve your country . You want all the rights and privledges, as long as somebody else pays for it .
Remember this , if you have anything of value , someone will be willing to take it away from you.
Right now , better Americans than you are in uniform , defending you freedoms , the freedoms you fear to defend .
There are some very nasty people out there who are sworn to destroy America , take what you have , kill you .

Maybe , by facing them down in places like Iraq , we can prevent what you fear and you can continue living in freedom .

It wasn't forty years between world wars nimrod. Good grief, you kids on here scare the crap out of me with your ignorance. I believe there will be numerous wars being waged all over at the same time. There is no way the U. S. can handle something like that. The logistics would be staggering. Not to mention the combat troops it would take. We can forget about the U. N. The frogs never were our friends. The brits would help as long as there population went along. But they are one election away from electing a new prime minister. Tony Blair has been a true friend inspite of growing opposition at home to the deployment of British troops. It's going to be Muslims against all religions. Everybody is an infidel to them fanatic rag heads. Look at the Philippines, terrorist training camps all over the place. A Muslim uprising is going on right now. When you remove a dictator then all the different sects begin murdering each other. See Iraq. Saddam Hussein was a despot but they needed his iron hand rule to keep them apart. Saudi Arabia is on the verge. There population is unhappy with the ruling family, the Sauds. People don't realize that the British drew the map for the middle east. When they left in the forties and fifties they broke up the desert into different countries with out realizing the difference in all the sects. Shite, Sunni, Kurds, Bedouins and a good sized Christian population in Lebanon. In this country the Lutherans Cathelics, Baptist, Methodists et al get along and live side by side. This country was founded on freedom of religion. Not so over there. They have thousands of years of tribal warfare and sectarianesm. I hope the draft does not return we will wide up with a lot of unmotivated troops like we had in Viet Nam. Just smoking dope and waiting to go home. The volunteer Army we have now is the best. Personally I served in a volenteer outfit, the Airborne. The paratroopers were the best. We didn't have near the problems the leg Army had. Mostly draftees. So if it comes to a draft to fill the holes we are in trouble,

hello! What a great question. One wherein is quite complicated to answer.we are speaking approximately 2 different generations. at present's international and the international of 50 years in the past are very stressful to evaluate.in the previous we had hate, racism and segregation.a closer look at at present's international and we are nonetheless seeing the same hatred, loss of admire, etc. There somewhat isn't that lots of a difference.at present we do see greater distinctive way of existence's,on the same time as communications and each and all of the technological advances we've made have allowed us to ascertain greater of our international. Hatred has existed long previously this era.the same could be reported of the lack of admire for our fellow acquaintances.I completely believe you in this subject count that we as a society are quite shallow.each individual is in charge for his or her very own strikes.although because of this variety in way of existence, customs, historical past as an occasion, people tend to easily care approximately themselves, unwilling to open as much as new thought's and learn from one yet another and the blunders that have been made 50 years in the past besides as at present. till we unite and permit peace to succeed in this international,i'm sorry to assert issues maximum in all probability won't substitute for the subsequent era. If I had to grant a confident or no on the instant up answer i might believe you that we are no longer lots greater desirable as a society than we've been 50 years in the past. Peace to you mostly.

Things to be thankful for # 2398347598743 - I'm 43 & grew up in England with the "4 minute warning" - if the USSR launched their nuclear missles, we had 4 minutes before we & everyone we knew would be dead - no defence, no place to hide, everyone dead.

With the drawback of ICBM's & the breakup of the Soviet Union, I think we all have a FAR better chance of dying of old age now instead of nuclear Winter. It's not much. But it is something to be thankful for :-)

I hope so. Kill off the surplus population. Just remember, if a draft comes back, it will be at the hands of the democrats. Afterall, it is not fair that poor people and minorities join the military whilst white rich kids do not. We need a draft for fairness and economic justice.

men are always and have always been more prone to war.... let women rule the world.... and we'd probably have much more peace... but since that isn't likely to happen until you boys blow us all up I guess a pattern is a pattern. Until we learn from our mistakes..... it's inevitable. I think Canada is looking brighter and brighter everyday. Last thing, Please vote for anyone but a pro-war president in 08 On a draft send all the criminals to the front line. then let the illegals fight for their citizenship, then send all politicians, (if you have ever run for office you get to run for your life!)

yeah, but i think it is much more than a world war...its going to be civilizations at war...in the WW the enemy was clear it was a country/countries...now its an ideology...and with all the PC going around now...we are doomed to wound ourselves which may cause us to lose...i am not really scared that it will happen i am more frustrated and the soft approach so many want to take...it doesn't really get the job done...

I suspect we will. As for the draft, I don't think so, because I think our leaders are too gutless to risk their election on forcing people into the military.

little one,
Don't worry to much.
What went wrong out there had already happened.
So let the dirty old men in office clean up the mess they had created for themselves back in the past on planet earth.
