they're our parents, and some other time everyone hates their parents and sometimes we love them to bits. they, get on our nerves, and sometimes we think that their reasoning is stupid, but after all they are our parents, and deep down inside we all love them.

I am not a kid, I am a middle-aged parent, and no, I don't hate my parents because mine are both dead now, and I miss them very much. Mom's gone almost 15 years and Dad now for 4. But I have a 19 year old son and a 17 year old daughter and I can assure you that sometimes they hate me and their dad. I think this is perfectly normal b/c they are growing up, becoming adults and want to stretch their wings, but aren't quite there yet. So we still have rules they have to follow. In their 20s, I hear from more experienced parents that this balance of power finally equalizes out and you all can become good friends.

See, the problem with teenagers is they think they know everything. In reality, they are still children.
I'm 27, just FYI. On the cusp of still knowing what kids thing but having a more adult view on the world.
Kids are arrogant for the most part. Not because they intend to be, but because they want to be adults so bad, they psychologically convince themselves they know everything.
However, what kids don't have is:
- wisdom
- insight
- perception
All three of those are based on previous life experience. That's why kids are easily duped.
Don't misunderstand me. Intelligence reaches it's peak at 17-19. However, using what you know correctly is a life long endevour.
You'll grow up and eventually go "Wow, that was pretty stupid, but I believed it at the time" (unless you remain a child mentally)."
Then you'll see what your parents were doing (insight), and you'll understand they took the position they did.

We all do hate 'em from time to time, but at the end you figure out that they're the only ones you can lean on at any time.
