That happened to me (my daughter is now 2). I took my first one around 4 weeks after her conception and it was negative. I relaxed until i didn't get my period again the next month either. When I took that test (6 actually) they were all positive.

About a year ago, I was in the middle of ending my routine of taking birth control pills. I was late so I took a pregnancy test, which showed positive. I think I started spotting or something so I became suspicious and took another pregnancy test again which showed negative. I was confused and still wasn't sure if I was pregnant. But I found out a few days later because I started my cycle. To this day, I am still confused about that situation. My co-worker told me I might have been stressed which caused an irregular cycle. I didn't tell her I was taking birth control which also could have been a factor with my irregular cycle. After this incident, I swore to myself that I would never ever take another pregnancy test again. In my experience, it was inaccurate. I have health insurance now so if I suspect i'm pregnant, I will go for a blood test only. Obviously it was the most accurate....a few months after this incident, I found that I was 100% pregnant via the blood test procedure.

understand that one!

my friend was in this position - she now has a 4 year old boy!

she took tests after tests even went to the doctors who took blood tests and he even said she was not pregnant. By the time all of this passed she started to show, and then had a scan to check again - yes she was pregnant!

She knew but it seemed that no test would prove this. The trouble is that the hormones in the pill effect tests for some people.

good luck

Yes that happened to me! I took the test about two weeks and it came out negative two weeks later it came back negative. When I took a blood test at my doctor it showed positive. My doctor told me that it was definitely not enough of the hormone to show on a home test. I was just too far ahead of technology.By the time you miss your period you have been pregnant by at least four to six weeks.

I had 2 pregnancy tests turn up negative when I was pregnant. It can and does happen. I took my tests about 2 weeks after my period was due to come and they showed negative. I had to go to the doctors and have a blood test to show that I was pregnant.

Not me personally, but my sister in law did this with her daughter. She was almost 3 1/2 months before the Dr finally listened to her because both the tests at home and the urine test at Dr.'s were negative. She "felt" pregnant and she was. If these feelings persist talk to your Dr., there could be other health issues making you feel this way.

the pill is not 100%!!! the preg test could have been defected or it wasn't picking up your hcg level and that's what caused the results to be negative. Trust, I took a home preg test and it told me neg as well. When I went to the Dr's office, it came back positive as hell before I could even sit down!!!

omg. thats exactly what happened to me... i thought i was pregnant was still on the pill and took a test told me i wasnt pregnant, took one a week later told me i wasnt went to the doctors for a check up he told me that i was. i was 4 weeks when i took the first test 5 when i took the second and 6 when they told me i was... you have to wait 5-6 weeks before a urine test can tell but i think 4-5 for a blood test.

Pregnancy tests test for the presence of HCG hormone in your urine. You have high amounts of this hormone in your blood and urine during the early phases of pregnancy. The reason for your false negative results is that there wasn't a lot of HCG in your urine yet -- you tested too early.

Good luck.

YES!!!!!!! Each time i was on some form of birth control and had the same problem. I had three kids in a five year span. Birth control is definatley not 100% and can reek havoc on a preg. test.
