Bill Bailey is the funniest thing ever!! Went to see him a couple of years ago and thought I was going to die laughing! Beautiful ladies in danger is the BEST song ever written as well!!
The best thing the Beeb ever did was get the mighty Bill on the Buzzcocks. He's far funnier than Shaun Hughes used to be.
I used to like Eddie Izzard, but I think he's past his peak now. Dress to Kill was great, but I don't think Sexie was very funnny. Went to see him live and was a bit disappointed.

I agree! I think Bill Bailey is great... And as for Billy Connolly, the guy is the best there is. Peter Kay makes me chuckle, Jack Dee is very dry, on the female side I don't think you can beat Victoria Wood.

I agree with you, Bill Bailey is just great, he's the one I thought of when I read the question... Billy Connoly is good too, his style is a bit different from Bill Bailey though, and he doesn't seem to have done too much recently, still a great comedian though... If I had to think of another one, I'd say that Dane Cook is pretty great, check him out on Youtube ;) There's lots of comedy talent up on there.

Eddie Izzard in Definite Article and Dress to Kill although the stoned olympics part of Circle was hysterical
Alan Davies (Look at that - use of the tail)
Bill Bailey (singing romantic songs in Somerset accent)

Yes I definately agree with Bill and Billy. Also Peter Kay though. We were lucky enough to have him do a gig at our final year ball just before he became famous (8 years ago). He was doing his rola cola joke and "taxi for henderson" even back then.
