Believe it or not, over 10% of the world is married to their first cousin. And I believe only 10 states forbid it. Just as long as she is of age. Jerry Lee Lewis married his cousin when she was only 13. My father's sister married her cousin. He is a Sheriff's Deputy in LA County.
It kinda makes for an awkward family reunion I would think.

You will have to check the laws of the state in which you live. Most states allow it but do not condone it. Early in the twentieth century and before, it was a very common practice but is much less in favor today. We now have a better understanding of Natures need for widening the genetic pool and first cousins stand a much higher risk of giving strength to presupposed family disorders.

Legally, no.. you can not. Although I do know of two families in the DC area who, for generations, intermarried so that their children would retain other than ethnic ***** facial/body features.
I have a question for you though.. would your aunt allow you to marry her daughter? Because if you can gain her permission, and I think this is outside the law, your family morals definately comes into question in my mind.

Yes you can, depending on what state you live in. That person is your first cousin.
Honestly, honey, if you went to family reunions to visit with your aunts and uncles and not date up your cousins, you might meet someone new. At the store, or at a hockey game.
I think the REAL question is "should you." That answer depends on how your family is going to react. If you are going to end up in a trailer park with Jerry Springer, sticking a mike in your face, then you might reconsider. If your dad wants "kissing rights," you might reconsider. If your mom is really your sister, it might be ok.
Start a NEW family tree, with BRANCHES.

It depends on the state. Many first cousins have married throughout history especially in small communities where most everyone was related. Famous first cousin marriages include Albert Einstein, Franklin Roosevelt, I believe the Queen is married to her first cousin.
States have made it illegal to marry your first cousins because they are concerned with birth defects. Marrying first cousins is nothing new.
Not all first cousins who marry are interested in having children or they may be beyond child bearing years.
****WV is one of the states that prohibit 1st cousin marriages. Couples have traditionally travelled to MD to wed.

That would make you first cousins, which means you cannot legally marry in a lot (but not all) states.

this goes for blah:
check your info. 'cause in mexico IT IS ILLEGAL to marry your cousin.
You can probabbly marry her if you're adopted. But if she's your blood relative, watch out because your children could be born with several medical problems.

Its not healthy for cousins to marry. My advice dude - look beyond the family, there are thousands out there who would like to marry you. Rest is upto you. Good Luck.
