Option #1
Tap into the hot lead that comes off of the positive (red or +) battery terminal. Not the big one, there is usually a small (about 10-12 guage lead) if not, you can add one. Run this through the firewall of the vehicle to your hardware. Include a fuse and noise filter in this lead.

Downside, this is straight power. If you forget to turn it off, it will drain your battery.

Option #2
Run from the fuse block using an open block. Make certain this is toggled on/off when you turn the ignition on.
