I used the recovery disk that came with my computer to reinstall operating system but dont know how to get rid of the one that i used before.The operating system is windows xp home eddition

Do you mean you reloaded your computer? If that is the case you may have installed the new operating system on top of the old one and need to do a fresh install of the new operating system. This would include Formatting the drive during installation to remove any files. If this is the case would suggest reloading with the new operating system and choosing to format the drive during instalaltion

If you are installing a new operating system you will be given the option to format the hard drive near the start. Do this and everything will be wiped including your old OS. You will need to back up any importnant files though as every thing will go.

To get rid of the old operating system, buy a new operating system and install it into your computer.

Have you done it over 2 differnt partitions?

Please post more information. What did you do to get to OS on your PC? To you have more than one hard drive? What OS on what hard drives, etc. Too many possibiliteis to answer. Sorry!!

delete it and then install a new OS
