Surely with "global warming" they wouldn't drop off this year? Would they?

OK people, if you look closely, this question isn't even about hurricanes.

I was thinking the very same thing this morning !! Great minds I guess !! The left is surely hating the lack of hurricanes thus far this season !! They can't blame the right for all of the destruction...you do know the right controls EVERYTHING !

Who cares? I live in FL and I am glad there are no hurricanes. Just because we got lucky this year does not mean there is no global warming going on. Everyone knows there is global warming going on but some people think it is man made and others think it is a part of the Earths cycle, but either way it is happening so whats your beef? Don't you want to help out the environment or you just don't give shi*. I say if people are trying to help out the planet so we can live in a cleaner environment great.

Doesn't look like we are going to get any does it? We are having the worst drought in history combined with record breaking heat wave in Texas. I think you need rain for a hurricane and we are getting slim to none of that. The forecast is for a warmer than usual September and October too. The huricane season isn't over for a few more months so anything could happen.

It is not even the end of August!

As for global warming, there is little reasonable question that it is real. The important issue is whether human activity unduly causes it and dealing with the consequences regardless of the cause. If increased severity of tropical storms is part of it, places like the Gulf Coast become much less attractive to live in.

It is still early, many typhoons and hurricanes begin late August and September. We have had typhoons in Asia during every month of the year. The heating of the water usually peaks out during August and September and the chance diminuishes. We just had a typhoon here about a week ago, a a small typhoon a week before that, so don't put your boat away yet.

Actually I heard on Fox News from the great Bill O'Reilly that Hezbollah actually made a weather machine and they are harnessing all the hurricanes for one big hurricane. It will be like Katrina and 9/11..... TIMES A THOUSAND!

i have been wondering the same thing. i lived in new orleans when ivan came through and just missed us. and i moved to texas a few months before katrina hit. i've been waiting for this years storms and so far.....nothing. but you have to consider that the weather men can't get the daily weather right half the time. how could we expect then, for them to get it right almost a year ahead of time? i think it's either going to be a late storm season or the last part of this one will ravage the coastline.
