Career wise Mulder is easily the best out of those 3. Weaver looked like a sure fire star but with the Yanks he suddenly couldn't pitch and hasn't had a decent much less good season since leaving the Tigers. Suppan has had his decent years but he's basically a 3rd or 4th in the rotation inning eater. Mulder at his peak was a #1 calibur starter and has promise to develop into an even better pitcher. The question is more about his injury. Many pitchers when they come off a serious arm injury have to learn how to pitch, which generally makes them better pitchers. Those who don't learn how to get hitters out with more than a fastball are doomed to start with injury or no injury. I think Mulder will adapt if he loses any speed off his fastball.

mark mulder is the best pitcher for the time being, however weaver has great stuff and just needs to control it and his emosions. suppan hasnt got the best stuff but he can mixit in a way that can make hitters look like fools

mulder is definitely better and suppan can be pretty good at times, but weaver is very inconsistant.

i may take a lot of flak for this, but i think weaver could surprise a lot of people. turns out he had a different arm angle when throwing the heater, as opposed to throwing offspeed. dave duncan has been working with him, and he is working on correcting this problem. after a very good performance last nite, (compared to recent starts), watch him in the future. with adam wainright set to join the starting rotation next year, look for the red birds pitching to vastly improve.

I personally think John Smoltz is the BEST. Playing for 20 years and he gets better all the time. Should win the Cy Young Award.
