I have a very small balcony so space is an issue, but I love fresh veggies! Can they grow upward like cukes? Is there a dwarf variety for small spaces?

I have grown tomatoes, lettuce, cucumbers, broccoli, eggplant, and different types of squash including zucchini in five gallon buckets. I just train them up stakes or little trellises as they grow. You would be surprised how strong the stems are. I have never had them break when heavy and full grown. It is fun to grow this way. I have a yard, but I like to grow in buckets. You can keep up with the watering and bug picking easier and the animals don't get to them.

Sure can just stake them and make sure they don't get too big and you can have veggies. Try other vegetables also. I grow tomatoes and carrots with some radishes.
