Actually it is of the Feline Familia, like the tomato being mistaken for a veggie, foxes are often thought of as dogs, but their closer related to cats. Raccoons are are this way as well.

Foxes are from the same sort of family of dogs, like coyotes and wolves. But foxes are not canines, and should not be domesticated.

Not sure. But a chupacabra may be a fox with a bad case of the mange. So that some foxes may be chupacabras, but not all chupacabras may be foxes. Is this helpful?
