good topic this is going to be long answer!

No I do not support it in anyway I am from backward class and I never went through reservation 'cos my father had the money to put me through college. Qoutas should be absolutely reserved for actually Ecnomically Backward class people. But even before that I feel that
1. English should be taught in all the schools ( yes even regional board should have english as a compulsory language to start in Nursery and to be completed till 12th grade ) All subjects should be taught in English. Why I am stressing on this is 'cos if we do not do this they will get competition from children studying in metropolis citites like Delhi, Mumbai,.....
2. Govt. Schools and Municipal schools should have more dedicated teachers who actually teach children in their classes rather than sit in their staff rooms knitting or better still not even coming to school for several months ( do you realise when these students even get 40% it is sheer effort from the actual student and not because of the teacher who neglected to take classes ). The teachers should be made accountable for every class if 2 students fail even in their monthly tests the teacher should be pulled up for bad tutoring.
3. Tutions should be banned, any teacher taking tutions should be not allowed to teach all her/ his life! If at all a teacher takes tutions for some of the weaker students it should be absolutely free of cost.
4. Govt should make it compulsory for all the children to go to school ( no children in the sweatshops, or begging, or washing utensils in a tea shop )
5 If Quality Education is made Mandatory and Free do you think anybody would need Reservation? Our education system needs major reforms. Why do students studying in private schools get great marks and the pass percentage is more, that is 'cos if the teacher does not come out with good results she/ he would be given the pink slip the very next day; whereas in public school there is no accountablity teachers do not care about the young minds that have come seeking knowledge, they just want the pay and sit at home. a paid vacation for all it matters!
4) Even if we have tp give reservation then let be done like a one time ticket! what I mean is if I use this one time ticket my children , or any of my future generation should not avail this reservation ever! The govt and people have already given me the chance to come up well in life then why can I as a person give my children better education and bring them up well enough for them not to need any reservations of any sort ( do you agree ) This reservation thing has gone too far and people who are getting this reservation are mostly people with so much money that once their children do graduation the parents send them to Europe, Australia and US to study for their MBA!!
Reservation was first introduced at our independence and was to be given only for the first 8 years after our independence so that we could pull up the economically backward classes.... but even after 60 years nothing has happened if at all the amount of people economically backward has increased since our independence.... hence what we could not achieve in 60 yrs can we do it in another few? I do not see it happening till we change the way education is imparted!

More importantly our constitution says : " no one shall be discriminated on the basis of Caste, Creed, Gender or religion" Which is the biggest lie.....
Reservation - Disrimination on the basis of caste
Minority Reservation - on basis of religion
Women's Quota - Gender bias
When our parliament at the highest level does not uphold our constitution tell me then why Will Petty Ministers like Arjun Singh care about the million students?

Hari Kudos to you for being a fighter!! I was in my 11th grade when the 1st reservation Quota was given by then PM VP Singh I still see scars of that in my friends who lost out seats in very prestigious institutions like AIIMS & and MAMC( people with 65% got admissions and my friends who had 90% could not get through how unfair is that and these were students who did nothing but studied all their lives and had dared to dream of better life ).....and had to settle for lesser dreams!

Education or for that matter any place that deals with public life should not be subjected to reservation based on religion or caste but surely on merit. The government policy in this matter is purely a vote catching excercise and not meant to benefit the society. There are many villages where school are run on the government paper without providing school or teachers, even though budgets are made and money spent in crores which ends up into the pockets of politicians!

A Clear Never!

I always feel that education should be based on knowledge not on reservations. i was also affected by this reservations. Even though i got more than 90% & was economically backward at that time and was not even having money to pay my fees as my fees for a BE was 60,000 being a general .while a reservation person who was having 50% marks was able to get his seat for a neat 15,000 who was far more rich. But due to my hard work now i am an Aircraft Engineer and he was failing in his exams.

I am surely against reservations as caste has nothing to do with Higher studies but i am sure this will retard the quality of the technocrats who will be the pillar of this nation as those who are capable will not be going to make it !!!!

What is this "reservation"? It must be a British thing because I've never heard of it & I'm from the U.S. Sounds spooky & sounds like we should count our lucky stars out here in California for state education that costs next to nothing.

I'll quit whining about Arnold hiking the tuition at UCSD to $7,650.00 per year now.

No, i dont in favour of reservation in higher educational institutions bcoz it should be as per society/industries need for which a sound planning is required. side affect of reservation in higher education institions is also to minimize chances for the needy students bcoz they canit reserve for themselves in advance. in my opinion doors to higher education should remain open for everyone without regard to religious and regional boundaries. You may agree or not but i think so.

Split down the middle on question you ask. Half thinks reward should be based on merit. Half want some leveling of entry playing field. There exist reservation system presently . If you saying allocation of reservation system, than need to ask based on what factors.

Educational collection of publications covering every aspect of education in the United Kingdom.
International collection covering aspects of the organisation of education outside the UK
Reference collection including reference works, indexes, legal guidance, statistics of education in the UK and recent official government publications.
Other subjects collection containing publications on educational related subjects including psychology, sociology, linguistics etc.
Large selection of teaching materials for all subjects and stages of the curriculum with children's fiction and picture books.
Colleges and universities tend to actually have the worst issues when it comes to needing to get the right link needed to get access to your student/teacher accounts online.

I am not a politician and have no plan to become one either. Reservation is a vote bank politics. It is making riches among backward classes more rich, while poor getting pooer.

So I say a big big NOOOOOOOOO to reservation.
