I was 14 years old and this 20-something lady came up to me and gave me a blue beaded bracelet saying that she thought I'd like it. Then before I could refuse, she'd got into her car and drove away! That bracelet wasn't harmful or anything though.
Have you been given a gift by a stranger too?

The first thing here is it makes me laugh to see you call a 20-something a "lady" - LOL. You'll see why in not too many years. Anyway, she was nice, wasn't she? Finally, to answer your question: yes, small things occasionally. I would sometimes give something to someone if I felt like it too - a) If I weren't short on money; b) If people didn't get immediately scared of something so natural. I mean, people, we live in a society where the powerful control us by fear! It's disgraceful. This reminds, someone who's said to have used to do this kind of thing was Jimi Hendrix... He'd meet you on the street, feel generous and offer you a guitar or something. He was a "gent" too, in his 20-somethings... ;)

I once got a very expensive shirt from a customer I never met at my previous job. The airline he was travelling with had lost his luggage and had issued him with a voucher to buy some necessary stuff. He spent it on a shirt worth 70£ only to find out that it didn't fit him when he was allready on the plane. He just had a look at me and said well I guess you're about the right size and handed me the shirt. I've been using it as my suit shirt ever since.

Many times, but only in Africa. Most of the time i throw dem away, because the chance is big there's some juju (like voodoo) behind it. As a white, you have to be careful out there in Nigeria, Gabon, Mali etc. But sometimes i could see the person was really a good person that wanted to build like a bridge between us, so then i accepted. Mostly necklaces, food, CD's and clothes. But be careful, you never know who is who!

One day I was waiting in the emergency room to be seen. I just was at my Grandmothers funeral and shortly after fell and hurt my back, the experience of the funeral and my hurt back triggered an anxiety attack. A couple of months before my boyfriend died of a heart attack and I was a mess! Someone walked up to me and said it looks like you need this and handed me a small medal with an angel on the front and the word strentgh on the back. She smiled and left. I don't know where she came from but watched her walk out the door.

I was offered a ring on a bus by some random guy. But, I refused. He looked high.

When we went on a cruise to a small pacific island my sister was given lots of gifts by the natives, hand made necklaces, hairpieces, shells etc because they were intrigued by the way she looked. She ended up with a suitcase of stuff before we left the island.

The most beautiful thing about the human race is I never once received anything from rich people. It's the poor who were willing to part with their things. They gave a helping hand even when they couldn't afford to give away their possession.

I was about 4 or 5 years old when I went with my dad to a concert in our local city hall. We saw and heard several choirs as I remember. There was a choir from the UK and one man singing amongst them up there on the stage "saw" me, I thought. He seemed to look at me, that little girl sitting amongst hundreds of people in the audience. After the concert I was standing with my dad in the atrium, my dad talking to people, hundreds of people standing and talking around us. And then through the crowd the man that had looked at me from the stage came to me and gave me small box. I opened it and found a collector's coin. My dad talked to that man, I couldn't because he spoke only English and I spoke only German then. That was a strange experience, but exciting and very nice too. There was someone who picked me from a crowd and gave me a present, that made me feel special.

I can't remember where I was...it was the vet or a dr's office or small store when we lived in Memphis and a older lady walked up to me and my kids and gave them a new copy of the movie Shriek. It had just came out on video that week. I thanked her and asked her if she was sure and she just told my kids to enjoy it. I had promised my kids I was going to go get it for them that same day.
