When I lived in the Midlands, people would say, "I'm gwanin home now." I think it's just a colloqualism for 'going'. I hope it's not anything rude!

are you sure you've spelt it right? guanine or something? isn't there an island somewhere near the carribean that is, or was, covered in a several-feet thick layer of bird crap that is extremely valuable for some purpose or other, causing a bunch of people to visit and scrape it off so much that there's hardly any left?
