I dont lock the doors when i am home, I dont even lock them when i am not home!. I live in a remote part of australia, and my nearest neighbour is a good 1 hours drive or a good day trip away by horse. The only unwanted visitors I get are stray kangaroos or nosy furry animals occassionally. So my doors are always unlocked.

No, I never lock my doors, whether I'm home alone, or out of town for a week. Though now that I've announced this on the Internet, I will probably start locking them :)

I live in rural northern Michigan, USA. When I lived in Detroit, though, the doors were always locked.

I live in Melbourne, Australia and I have to admit that 10 years ago I never bothered locking my doors or windows as far as that goes. However, these days the crime rate has increased and I always double check my doors and windows are locked ...and even dead locked. Over the years, I have even had roller-shutters installed on my back bedroom windows as this deters robbers as well as keeping the heat out in the summer months.

Yes - locked. Panhandle of Florida, USA.

We live in the country, and we have neighbors that 'cook' so we get the occasional meth-head at our door. We had one last night when we were getting the kids to sleep - scary.
