Well just to let you all know I have told her she has to wait till she is 13 and then we would talk about it alittle more.I was 1 when my mom let me..So I guess that is where I got that number..But she is so pretty and is told so by so many people I jsut hate for her to cover it up..I was thinking of letting her use a soft shimmering powder that dosen't clog pores and maybe some lip gloss ..But I just found some face cream for young girls that suppose to help with perserving skin that has a shimmer to it..So we'll have to see..What you all think..Will really help..Thanks

I started wearing tinted lip balm, mascara and eyeshadow when I was 12 and you can look really natural with it. My mum doesn't let me wear foundation but I'm allowed concealer now I'm 13. I also have eyeliner but I only wear it if I'm going out to a party or somewhere special.
I think you should let your daughter wear make up, but you could help her pick - let her wear clear or brown mascara instead of black, and instead of lip gloss, how about tinted lip balm? If she's going out to a party or it's a special occasion, maybe you could let her wear eyeshadow, like something shimmery or glittery.
I think if you want her to keep her skin clear just let her wear mascara and lip balm/gloss, as it won't affect her skin.
Hope you and your daughter sort it out!
xx

The only make-up that a child needs at 12 years old, is noxema for her face, and clearasil.
In the summer, she can safely tan her face and skin, and have a healthy glow to it. You don't want her to look older than she actually is. Look what happened to Jonbenet.
Make up isn't made to hide natural beauty. Longevity of use will make her face wrinkle and age faster. She will be 25, and look like 45.
In the wintertime, she can protect her face from the elements with vaseline, and a hot cloth before going outside. Make-up is for older women that are trying to recapture some of that natural beauty that time has taken away. Get her some shiny lip gloss, pale pink nail polish, and call it a day.

At 12, Lip gloss and mascara are ok. I would let her continue with what she is doing. At 14 you can let her add a light eyeshadow. If she has really pretty skin I would nix the face make up for as long of you can. I wish I did! I had great skin and went and ruined it with face make up.
Good luck!

Well I don't know how much advice I can offer as I'm only a teen myself but I started makeup at 14 and I don't think my mum approved but definitely don't let her use any more than mascara because I've seen how horrible girls can look with too much makeup. Once they start on the makeup they'll seem to grow up really fast after that.

I started to lightly wear make-up when I was 12... I was only given a little bit, make sure you teach her NOT to wear eyeshadow during the day, only sluts at school do that and it is to be worn at night (trust me!) now that i'm a little bit older i just wear cover up on my under the eye dark bags, bronzer because i'm so pale, and some mascara. tell her the less you wear, the less you have to worry about her applying her make-up will go wrong. but if she feels ready to wear it, teach her

wow I'm 13, and wear heavy make up, lots of eyeliner, more of a Gothic look. hm, she's 12 maybe lip gloss, mascara, oh maybe a little eyeliner. it's better if you set the limits instead of her putting on loads of make up behind your back. maybe 14, I'm talking about eye shadow and etc.

I think that when she starts to get interested in wearing makeup then let her use a little, lip gloss or something. I don't even remember when I started to wear makeup, but I also don't remember begging my mom to let me. Good Luck!

They make cosmetics for ages as low as 6.
You should look at this as a learning process and help her to learn less is more and how to apply the make up properly.
If you don't she will only have to deal with the problem later and at a more self conscious age.

I think 16 would be the right age. But you have to make sure she doesn't wear too much!
