There is a situation that is now pretty much kept quiet regarding a US ship that was equpped with the then newly developed radars... in Philadelphia. It simply disappeared from the harbor with all its crew... and reaappeared a couple of miles away, with men trapped... or FUSED... into walls and decks made of solid steel. Do a Google search. They supposedly went back in time, although they seemed to have re-materiale only seconds later in another part of the harbor... is this real? If so, then time travel is possible... Some simply vanished, disappeared and were never seen again, and those that were fused in walls and decks and those that lived were never allowed to speak with the press under strict orders, and those that were removed (through amputations) from walls and deck floors were sent for the rest of their lives to military hospitals and never seen again.
But, what if time travel is possible, and we can go back in time and alter events... how do you know it hasn't been done already? I mean, what you hold in your consciousness and memory may be an altered event that was already changed by some time traveler.
Or, the next possible scenario that Hollywood loves to throw at us, about changing the past and destroying some "continuum" of events that may have possible grave consequences... that may backfire and destroy the person who altered the past or the real flow of time and will have dire consequences on humanity that is only unimaginable...
Look, it was also impossible for man to fly remember that part of history? Likewise, going to the moon was only a fantasy in books... traveling faster than sound... curing certain diseases... Who's to say what is possible or impossible?
What we take for granted today, was "impossible" not so long ago... a home computer... WHO would've thought it possible 50 years ago, 40 year ago or even 30 years ago!
20 years ago, who would've thought that we could be enjoying the use of cellular telephones as we do today or transmitting photos with our handheld "tele-communicators"?
What is holding us back from finding cures and ending poverty, hunger, malnutrition and a host of diseases? The super-rich and the pharmaceutical companies that make more profits by having the ill and sick maintain a condition rather than curing it...
the super-rich manufacturers whose greed exceeds their sense of humanity and concern for their fellow man... avarice is a bad disease to overcome!
Is time travel possible? I'd venture to say, it is... but, what if our own government has found a way to travel through time... do you think they'd tell us? Just like they tell us the truth about UFOs and other unexplained phenomenons?
The super-rich who control this nation must first figure out a way to benefit their own interests first and get a head start on the rest before they release information...
Is time travel possible? What do YOU think?

The argument that time machines can never be made because we have had no visitors from the future is not necessarily true.
The most likely (though still very unlikely) form would be an "Artificial Wormhole" linking two points in timespace. Natural wormholes are sub-microscopic and no use for travel but with a lot of energy and clever physics we might force an enlarged one that somebody could pass through.
However, if you made one, you couldn't go back and say hello to Julius Caesar or something; the earliest you could visit would be....the day you built the wormhole!
A week after you built it, you could go back a week. In a hundred years time, they could go back a century and meet the guy who built the wormhole etc. But they could never visit a time before the wormhole was made. As we can't make them today, it follows we will never get any wormhole travellers!

They are a reality although there are some problems still to sort out. My job description used to be " cab driver" I now see myself as a "Time Travel Facilitator" as I can take you somewhere else to arrive at some point in the future. Unfortunately I've not worked out yet how to reverse the procedure although if someone has actually travelled from some point in the past they must of had good reason so why would they want to return.

If time machines are ever invented we would already know about it because someone would travel back in time and tell everyone about it so they'd already be invented before they were invented and the universe would have to turn inside out and upside down and cats would become dogs and last of the summer wine would be funny and Steven Hawking would have to admit that his whole life has been a bit of a waste of time.
Or maybe not.

It could be a possibility. I don't know enough about science to make a call either way but I do believe that if a time machine was ever invented, it would not be public knowledge. They would hide it and years later someone would talk about it and then people would scrutinize the story for anomalies and it would be all 'Roswell'. Did it happen? Didn't it happen? My take on it anyway.

Yes, we've already got them. They're called clocks.
Seriously though, it's easy to travel forward in time. We do it at the rate of 60 seconds a minute.
Travelling backwards in time can only be achieved with a little device I've been working on called a cubic modulator.

If we've adequate stepped ahead technologies to deliver a human to go back and forth on the speed of light or through wormholes with perfect calculation to deliver us to the precise time we need effectively. I say scientist is likely utilising unidentified flying merchandise technologies to invent such gadget to help the time go back and forth theory. BQ: likely throughout at the same time as China became born, i need to make certain the greatness of the first chinese emperor.

No, because time moves linearly in one direction, forward. Time would have to be a loop or something else. Even if you went back in time would things be like they were back then? Time travel might allow movement through time, but would it change the events that had already occurred. For example, if I went back prior to 1982, would I find my mother alive, or would she still remain dead? If that were the case, then we might return to dead world. It reminds me of Stephen King's Langoliers.(Spelling)
