sapphire, silver , steel, sapphire and steel have been assigned, the end of the theme tune. sapphire and steel were travelling in time putting problems with the fabric of time right. there was only one series made and that ended with sapphire and steel trapped in another dimension. so were are still left wondering if they ever escaped. with regard to DVD i don't know

...Lead, copper, Jet, Diamond, Radium, Sapphire silver and Steel...Sapphire and Steel have been assigned...
Starring Joanna Lumley and David McCallum starred in this ATV production which ran from 1979 and ended in 1982 due to high production costs, frequent unavailability of both actors and ATV transition into Central.

Weird show - especially the depressing ending. It's out on dvd - any large retail chain should have it or be able to get it - it was only released in the last year or two.
You should buy SFX magazine - they run a comprehensive review section and generally keep tabs on all things culty on tv.

Joanna Lumley and David McCallum was the guy who also played the Invisible man.
I didn't get into it untill right at the end which was a shame but thought it was class.
Lots of fans around it seems, see below for a complete links page.

Sure do. If I remember right the TV company went on strike during September 1979 so we did not see all of the series.
