Simple, he doesn't tow the party line.
They want to sacrifice him so they can firm up their position as an antiwar party.
Howard Dean at his best.

Unfortunately, Lieberman's views of the world are too far from the platform of the democratic party. This is an important consideration. Think about George Bush - now every republican on the planet is trying as hard to distance himself from his positions on the war, the economy, and everything else. This would not have happened had the republican party better screened George Bush and determined he was too conservative for this planet - in the first place. The democratic party is quite correct to sing "so you had a bad day" for this crackpot Lieberman.

Honestly, I don't think Joe Lieberman belongs with the democratic party. I rarely agree with his politics, but the democratic party has gone so far to the left now that anyone with common sense couldn't be part of it. He will do fine as an independent, and I am sure will win in November.

I don't believe that as a political party or a political person it should be so absolute that you can't decide "I don't like that person" and not support them. I think that's a big problem with the repubs today- they supported their president despite what he did and if you look at our country today, it shows. I would like to see BOTH parties do the same with some of their candidates. I didn't like Lieberman YEARS before this, and many people felt the same way but obligated to support him like lots of republican candidates did with Bush.

Click on the link for The Shadow Party and get this book. It explains EXACTLY why Lieberman is being tossed out on his *** and why this is something for people to be deeply concerned about if you are republican or democrat.

They have employed the oldest trick in the Dem's book: use somebody until they take a position that makes sense, then dump the person because they are then a liability for the party.

many people didn't like him before that because he is directly tied to bush, and democrats don't seem to care for bush in general.

Because Leiberman isn't caring. He doesn't care or acknowledge he made mistakes with his position on Iraq.
