New York Post and Toronto Sun newspapers headlined yesterday with a photo of JonBenet murder suspect, John Karr, on a flight enroute to the US.
The chosen headline for both papers was 'SNAKE ON A PLANE'.
A pun too far?

I mean, why use a film title? its obviously gonna generate more publicity, and trivialises a serious subject

Remember, this is the Media, they do like to make up shocking headlines that will make you look, and want to read more.....
I find it more un-tasteful that this man (or monster!) can be sat in Business class on his flight back to the US, drinking Champagne, and eating nice food, in luxury....
Think what he's being charged for - An innocent little girl's life was ended in a barbaric and tragic way, for HIS satisfaction. Blunt but true.
Being called 'snake on a plane' is probably a kind comment !!
Innocent until proven guilty? Remember he has already
confessed to being with JonBenet as she died/was murdered.

The news is not about news anymore. Very difficult to find stories that are not sensationalized, or substantial journalism at all, for that matter. I have a handful of sources that I depend on for good news, and the rest I stay away from!
For example, for unprecedented international coverage I recommend The Economist.

A much more agreeable headline would have been: "Murder Suspect on plane"! But the world out there is looking for spice!

I think so. In this country, even though our court system is innocent until proven guilty, the people and press take the guilty until proven innocent stand and even if you're not found guilty we still don't like you attitude. So the guy was arrested, as far as I'm concerned they haven't proven that he is guilty which makes him still innocent in my book.

What a weirdo he is. As for the pun, why use a pun for a murderous paedophile? Theres not a joke going round.
