Ihave lost my yahoo msg list and when I try to add contacts it tells me they already exist. how can I get them

I faced the same issue recently after installing the Yahoo! messenger 8.0 version. It seemed like the friends list was nil (0/0) but then I could see the login alerts for all my buddies. There could be an issue with server contact. Now something happened and I see all my buddies in the list. If this happened recently, I suggest you to wait and see for couple of more days. Don't panic, no tool is perfect. But I know how upsetting it can be coz I've been through it myself.

Moreover, there is Y! customer support who will sort things out. Since you are getting a prompt that the contact already exists, there is no issue of losing out or contacts getting deleted from the messenger. Visit this link in case you need help.
