Insurance... student houses often have crap windows and the local scroats no where the student houses are and that you will bring in lots of expensive stuff and be nieve...

Smoke detector... housemates who mummsey did all their cooking trust worthy in the kitchen? ie leave the chip pan on to watch big brother then try and put out the fire with water (think vietnam naplam explosion if you do that..)

I'm gonna get one of those mini fridges, cos I read a nasty story about one group of students who shared a fridge. Apparently, someone left a cucumber in the salad drawer for a few months, until eventually it began to ferment and the drawer got filled with it's juices. No one excepted the blame, so it just stayed like that, with everyone's food getting covered in rotten cucumber. Nice.
