Nothing special about it. Most women dont join the army yet.. May change in the future, but I bet if you look you will find maybe 2% of the female population tops joins the army. They also havent been subjected to the endless years of street warfare in america so they probably have little intrest in becoming soldiers.

Some say wealth brings privleges. And this is true.... so why do people complain about it when they could go make the same wealth themsleves and have the same privleges. Nothing stopping them, except maybe their own ignorance.

As for the backs of the poor crap... well... Why do they sign up if they dont think the risk is worth it?

Its not like anyone ever forced them to sign up.

Now if piles of people were being drafted it would be different.

But they arnt. no one is being drafted.

The people in the military that are there believe the war is right.

They know they are fighting terrorists.

*should we be there well, thats another question and answer.

Actually, Jenna Bush went to UT. The reason the Barbara Bush went to an Ivy League is not only because Bush was an alumni (and a rich one willing to donate a lot of money at that), but also one of the leaders of the free world (honestly, which school would not want the president on its side?). Yes, Bush is a hypocrite; he is just not a competent president.

The class (and racist) system is alive and well in George Bush's America. The vast majority of the brave young men and women who fight and die for the USA in Afghanistan and Iraq are from poor families, and a large percentage are from visible minorities (especially blacks and Hispanics). There ought to be a constitutional amendment such that whenever a president commits American forces to any conflict, he and his children must be the first sent overseas to fight. Of course, it will never happen, but, if it did, I can almost guarantee that there would never be any more wars fought by Americans away from American soil.

yeah. how many rich kids enlist? probably none. privileges come with being vip's kids.
Military does provide good career opportunity, privileges and facilities. that's why the US has bigger military spending than the rest of the world combined.. some 400billion USD./year.
but rich kids don't need them anyway... that's why they target mid to lower class income families, to whom those opportunities, career, privileges and money would come harder otherwise.
