The Sony Mylo will be with us soon, also have web access via wi-fi, mp3 player, video playback, and even Yahoo + MSN messengers.
Downside is it only has Skype, it has no other phone facility.
Currently $400 in the US, might not be what your looking for but looks very interesting.

3G service is the great for Skype (VOIP) and it can not be available or is really scarce in Co. Galway. I stay close to the border with Donegal and that i have a three skype telephone and the skype service is poor. i understand from living in a border section that 3G amenities are heavily lacking in eire.

You want to connect through wap to use skype? What could possibly be the advantage in that?
