Jonathan hated his father, who constantly wanted to kill David, therefore Jonathan warned David everytime his father was looking for him. This is the reason the Bible says Jonathan loved David, as he protected David from his father's anger. So why are you people turning it to your own lustfull thinking?

how did Naomi and Ruth get into this? Naomi was Jewish and Ruth was a moabite, Ruth married Naomi's son, when her husband died, she embraced the God of Naomi, which is the God of Israel. Naomi made it possible for Ruth to remarry one of her own kin.

David and Jonathan never married each other, Jonathan was the son of Saul, he put his own position on the line for David as he was heir to the throne, but Saul knew that God had set the throne apart for David, that's why he seeked to kill him. That is the kind of love the Bible is talking about. Doubt if homosexuals would understand this kind of love.

Many supposed Christians use the story of the destruction of Sodom to condemn homosexuality, and it has NOTHING to do with homosexuality. It has to do with inhospitable behavior towards strangers, and violence. But it gets all twisted around. And the real meaning is evident, you have to twist it to make it gay.

The story of Johnathan and David on the other hand, on the surface sounds like homosexuality. I think you are right, that it is not a story of homosexual love, but more of the kind of love God commands us to all show each other.

On that note, lets show each other some love and stop tossing Bibles at each other, okay?

Not all homosexuals believe this assertion. What some are getting at is that the friendship between Jonathan and David was very close, that it might be construed to be of a sexual nature. I read it as saying that the two were very bonded to one another and were close friends. Sexualizing every instance of male bonding in the bible or elsewhere is not helpful to the gay community. All men, including gay ones, are bonded to other men in a nonsexual way.

"And it came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking unto Saul that the soul of Jonathan was knit with the soul of David and Jonathan loved him as his own soul. Then Jonathan and David made a COVENANT, because he loved him as his own soul. And Jonathan stipped himself of the robe that was upon him, and gave it to David, and his garmets, even to his sword and to his bow and to his girdle." 1 Samuel 18: 1, 3-4

"And Ruth said to Naomi, Entreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whether thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people and thy God my God: Where thou diest, I will die, and there will I be buried: the lord do so to me, and more also, if ought but death part three and me." Ruth 1: 16-17

So after reading these, who in fact is saying what? This is the word of the lord, Amen :)

Okee dokee. So I easily have by no skill heard this one previously yet i visit target to respond to it to the finest of my meager little information. Kissing isn't continuously a sexual aspect. you may kiss a pal. I kiss my mom each and each of the time yet I easily haven't any want (ICK ICK ICK) to so something sexual with my mom. Gross. LOL. it is also plausible to be close "knit" to someone while not having sexual thoughts for them. as far because the disrobing, Jonathan bumped off his armor for David to apply as secure practices because Saul became needing his head on a platter. it quite is likewise the rationalization David left his mum and dad domicile...he became operating for his existence. It did no longer have something to do with him getting married. o comprehend the context of the as against you used you ought to study the chapters previously a million Samuel. without the entire tale unmarried as against will be taken out of context.

Here is what David sings at the death of Jonathan. "I am distressed for thee, my brother Jonathan; very pleasant hast thou been to me: thy love to me was wonderful, passing the love of women." (1 Sam 1:26) I do not know anyone who says that David and Jonathan had sex, but clearly their relationship was more intense than friendship. The "why" of seeing the David/Jonathan relationship in the light of other ancient homoerotic (but not necessarily sexual) can be studied through biblical criticism sites like this: http://home.earthlink.net/~globalage1/id113.html

Because homosexuals are trying to justify their lifestyles by making out that the Bible is not really against homosexuality by claiming that "gay" relationships are in the Bible. The fact of the matter is not only is that premise absurd, homosexuality is a sin that God detests so much he called it an abomination!
