Interested in getting one and wanted to know if the externally threaded barbells would cause a problem with irritating the skin. Thats all I seem to be able to find so far. Or does it even matter as one doesn't remove the barbell that often? Also, is scarring very obvious in the bridge area?

most shops will use internally threaded bars because the threads can tear the healing fistula if you remove the jewelry. it's a matter of doing this as top-notch as possible. Is it going to irritate, not if you put in the bar in and leave it alone since the threads arent expose either way, but now a days it's usually a shady shop that uses external jewelry as initial piercing jewelry. Yes scar tissue build up is noticable but you can remove the bar and it will sometimes go away on it's own or you may need to do vit. e or emu oil rubs to break down the build up.

because this is the type of sensative spot, i'd advise going back to the peircer, seeing in the journey that they could get it out. Or a well being care service. because then you truthfully will understand this is sanatary, and also you received't get an infection attempting to get the barbell out. be careful. good success.
