We decided on having a baby is it true that you can only fall pregnant after 3 months, once you stop taking the pill. And its been 5 days since i stopped. But i haven't had a period yet.

It can happen over the next period, or only after several months... there is no rule really. People are sometimes surprised when it happens right away, but the moment you stop the pill, you can ovulate. Remember how many women are afraid of forgetting to take it for one or two days - and get pregnant!!!
5 days later, however, is a bit short, you did not have the time to ovulate.
Normally, the pill mimics the hormonal pregnancy situation, so that the body does not ovulate. when you don't take it for the week in-between, the hormonal withdrawal generate a fake period.
In a normal situation, your body would ovulate every 28 days, mid-cycle, about a week after your period. During ovulation is your fertility moment (abut 48 hours, one day before, one day after). If you stopped since 5 days, you haven't yet "stopped", you still should get a fake period, then you will not start with the next month's supply, with an ovulation a week later. So, my guess is that you are not pregnant.
You may want to see your doctor or take a pregnancy test...

Did you stop immediately or did you finish the cycle? Because you're supposed to finish the cycle or it throws you out of balance, which you really don't want now. I'm not sure when you can get pregnant after stopping the pill, but I've always been told not to have sex for one day per day I miss a pill so I'm assuming that it can happen after a day or so or I'm misinformed.

I stopped taking the pill June 2005 and was pregnant July 2005. Dear daughter is BEAUTIFUL.

it coul dbe the change in level of hormones because of the stopping of the pills. i got pregnant after being off the pill a month or two. take care of yourself and see and obgyn regularily to watch your fertile phases

If you skip to take a pill for one day is enough reason for you to become pregnant.

My sister in-law has fallen pregnant twice, after just forgetting one, (yes, one!!) pill. So, although it's not what the medical profession would tell you, it is possible.
