The more attractive a women is ( now don't flood my e-mail girls this is a generalization) the less effort she has to exert to attract the opposite sex. Henceforth less effort to maintain a relationship.Women who view themselves as less attractive put more time and work into a relationship. In the process they are more considerate of their partners wants and desires. That is how they know men better, they pay attention.

I don't think its that, I get the feeling that it means that "Plain" Women know more about men because they have either Had their hearts broken by men for a "beautiful" Women or Some other reason, But I could be wrong, That's just my opinion.

Women with a good physical appearance tend to think more about how they look to a man then what he thinks. Actually I think that even plain women are more loyal than beautiful ones. It's that plain women tend to look deeper in the hearth of a man and thus knows that men like those who love them even though they're not that attractive are hard to find.

In the most basic sense, beautiful women could get too into their own physical beauty and use it to attract men but mentally, they care about their self image and what the man sees in her physically. A plain women, if she thinks herself as plain, will know that physical beauty isnt that important as everyone gets old and loses physical attraction. THey learn to see deeper into men, what the man thinks etc etc.

I wouldnt say this is always true though. I think it depends more on the individual and how mature they are as I think its different for everyone.

It means that plain women have the opportunity of getting to know men as they are, while beautiful women can only get to know some "character" that every man they meet creates with hopes of impressing them and making them fall in love.

There is another saying: The plain girl's luck is envied by the pretty one.

Men are afraid that by being open and truthful to a beautiful woman , they weaken their protective shield of invincibility, and destroy their sexual mystique. They do not routinely see a plain woman as a potential lover, and feel less threatened about being open and truthful. As a young man, I would have disagreed. But, Katharine Hepburn also said that "Sensitive people are insensitive to other people's sensitivities, " and I have found that to be true. Brilliant thinker and fascinating woman!

this is my take on it...

beautiful women are too pre-occupied with themselves to know and understand about men. thus the plain janes have more time to observe and understand the men around them. also, it could be that men behave differently around beautiful women.. like trying to be someone they are not just to get noticed, but they take the plain janes as 'one of the guys'. im just plucking crap out of the sky, its just my 2 cents worth.

plain or beautiful really doesnt matter, i just dont wanna be someone im not....

It's just an anecdote. A woman knows what a women knows. Appearances either way, especially those determined by men, are totally irrelevant.

Plain women are not as self=centered, therefore have insights into others(men)...

Her reasoning was that pretty women rarely find the need or desire to know men, as men are a more common commodity. When you long for something rare it is desired more, understood more, and cherished more.
