No never even when i used to smoke, I think it's disgusting, horrible and even ruder than pulling a Mooney while they eat, (depending on how big your bum is!)
I find a huge problem now in the shopping centre near where i live, they have banned smoking in it, yet the food outlets and cafes allow smokers so they all congregate there. I like to take my 2yr old son for lunch in one rather than a McDonald's, but they're always full of smokers sat with a cigarette and a cuppa. My son and i end up sat on a bench outside a shop with a pre-packed sandwich to avoid eating nicotine fumes for lunch!! I hope they do a full ban soon. This is not the words of a reformed smoker(usually the worst I know), but the words of someone who respects and values the health of others(sorry for the rant). In answer to your question- no even if i still smoked, plus whether you are outside or not i think smoking next to someone who was there first is damn right rude and a lack of consideration, respect and manners.

Absolutely not!
I used to smoke (gave up 4 years ago - never looked back) and I remember being traeted to dinner at a posh(ish) resturant - average bill before drinks £50 a head - and choosing to sit in the smoking section.
Now, I fancied a cigarette whilst I waited for the starter, but... I could see that the people at the next table were eating, so I thought that it would spoil the flavours of their meal so I abstained out of courtesy...
Lo! when my meal came they lit up - he, a cigar! and devasted me.
It's no different even outdoors - cigarettes stink - roll on the ban in public places - in the meantime carry a supply of stinkbombs with you and break them into their laps.

clever thought, besides the shown fact that it could in all probability be seen unlawful, via fact that eating tobacco could be poisonous. So attack, DV, or in an severe case, tried hom. If she's only smoking each now and then, adamantly propose that she never have yet another one. only approximately each smoker starts off out believing they are able to proceed to smoke "socially" and not get addicted. They continually do, faster or later.

OMG that's SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO rude. I can't believe she did that and then had the nerve to smile. I would NEVER smoke next to someone eating and I even wouldn't smoke next to someone on a bench. Its not because I don't smoke but its the principle. Why would u disrespect someone's personal space like that? Some ppl just went taught to behave propertly.

Thank God that the curse is removed and I no longer smoke. However, I was a cautious smoker and did not even smoke in my home without sitting by the door and blowing the smoke out. Carry a sock around and put it in the smokers mouth.

That's disgusting. I know what you mean and I have had similar experiences to the one you described. Smokers are the scum of the earth. All they worry about is their pitiful addiction and not the damage and pollution and potential death they are imposing to those around them. It's not women its just a stupid person and a man will do that too. In their little tiny carcinogenic brain they think they look sexy blowing a putrid puff of smoke at you.

i would always ask first, but even if it was ok and i noticed the smoke was engulfing the person i would without a doubt smoke somewhere else or put it out. its mad how many people are ignorant to the fact that not everyone smokes. i do, but if i visit someone i always ask can i light up in their home, or the same in a car etc. if it happens again, polite but firm..
the 'fat' bit was unnecessary though.... almost as bad as her ignorant smoking..

its not just a female thing.. I smoke, but would not smoke around someone eating, not even on a park bench.. I always check out with a person i sit next to before lighting up- if they are not smoking - unless in a pub, even then if sharing a table with others. i still just check it out, esp if we join their table.
