So we start out as pond scum and work our way up to Apes through a long chain of events - so where will we go from here ?
Are we using our brains more or less that Grampa did ? I know we are using our body a lot less than he he did but with TV and all sorts of entertainment are we really questioning our suroundings anymore or are we enjoying them instead?
Will our thumbs spread to suit the computer mouse will we become taller shorter what is the next step and is it backwards? Will we evolve back into a more primitive being ?

If man evolved from apes then why are there still apes?. God created man it's in the first book of the bible.
Produce the author of that book and I will be more responsive to your thought patterns ...........

The thing is, evolution occurs more or less gradually, and traits are acquired by random mutation. You can only say that human hands would eventually be mouse-shape-adapted when people with (by chance) genetically mouse-shape-adapted hands suddenly become less likely to die out and more likely to reproduce. The possiblity that we would be dumber in the future might be plausible when less and less people look for intelligence in potential mates, or if dumb people begin to outmate smart people.
The terms "highly evolved," "better," "worse" or "primitive" life forms are human judgments. Bacteria are no more primitive than humans, because like humans, bacteria now also evolved and originated from the very beginning of life. Evolution is an impersonal, constant process of change and adaptation, and cannot be reduced to a continuum of "better" species, because the environment is also constantly in flux, not necessarily better or worse to adapt to. There isn't really an up or a down.

Every concept has evolved out of this planet earth. How matter interacts with matter and evolves what we call life patterns including that of human beings needs visions which can look deep inside the matter and its soul/spirit/consciousness.Human being has taken credit for devising God and religion.
We emerged from this planet and we will be absorbed by this planet and in turn by the cosmic intelligence.Individual level of existence can never come to an end and remains part of the whole.May be we stop experiencing the human emotional love which is changing to physical entertainment.
When emotional love is not experienced then we are and will be dust from dust and dust to dust.

Humanity is devolving. We are heading back toward pond scum. In another 10 years, the pinky toe will be just a memory. Pretty soon there will be no more opposable thumbs. You want proof? Look at Brittney Spears and K-Fed. Those two should never have been allowed to breed.

Human evolution is now more about cultural evolution than it is about physical evolution. Cultural evolution is a function of communication. Hence, the future of mankind lay in its ability to process and dissenimate information. As the volume of cultural information rises, the capacity to contain and understand it will also rise.
Darwinian forces are diluted in the context of human culture, as the population has become very large, and even the weakest human is permitted to live and procreate. However, intelligent people generally do seek out an oppurtunity to use their intelligence, and are usually handsomely rewarded for doing so, so there is an advantage to being intelligent. It is true that, for the most part, intelligent people are attracted to other intelligent people. Thus, I would argue that there is a mechanism for the selection of intelligence in human genes.
You should also consider that humans are approaching a point where they will no longer have to rely on nature to stimulate our evolution. Advances in genetic engineering and neural implants could unleash a wave of man-made evolution.

Most evolution is boring, and consists of small things like improvements to our immune system.
