As an American I think I should have the right to consume any substance I wish, as long as it does not harm another human bieng. I do not do drugs, or drink alcohol, I believe it is not good for your body. But, the government should not be able to control what goes into our body. Alcohol is legal, and it can kill you the first time you drink it. I am not saying from a car wreck or anything like that, I am talking about just drinking to much. Marijuana you can not die from it the first time consuming the substance. You can if it is laced with a more toxic substance. The government spends a lot of our money on ads that children do not even pay attention to. They show a drug user as a bad person, and someone who is not wise. Many Americans smoke marijuana and have good paying jobs, a nice car, a house, and have a beautiful family. What is so bad about them occasionaly consuming marijuana. I would like to hear everyones opinion on this, and please do not say it's illegal I know.

Poepies I do not like that answer at all. Most of my family has suffered from drug addiction, not marijuana but heroin. Marijuana should be legalized, other drugs maybe not. But I do know what overdose meens, and drugs have fvucked up my family really bad.

You have a very Libertarian view. I agree.

Are you just talking about marijuana? Then yes, I agree it could be legalized safely under the right legislative scheme.

Other drugs have a much more harmful effect on society, worse than alcohol, and should not be legalized due to harm from others. Not because the government doesn't want you to do it, but because of possible harm to others.

The question is why are so many drugs LEGAL?! The FDA approves drugs every day that are barely tested, have tons of side effects, and then show later to cause even worse problems than they were supposed to fix. The answer is $$$. None if it really is for the better of society as they would have you think. Marijuana can be grown anywhere, so there cannot be a patent and exclusive manufacturing rights.

If you don't do any drugs then you obviously do not know what you're talking about! Have ever seen someone die due to OD, (and I guess you don't know what that means! OVER DOSE)!!!

Where on earth did you hear that drugs do not effect other people! Go see a psychiatrist! It affects everybody around you!!! Your attitude changes, your breath start to smell bad, you start to look bad, and sorry to say, but you become a low life nothing! JUST TO NAME A FEW, AND NOT EVEN THE BAD PART OF HAVING A JUNKY IN YOUR LIFE!!!!!

Don't talk about things if you don't know what you're talking about!

Marijuana is a soft drug, but as soon as you are hooked and start experimenting, you go on to harder stuff, and then you are ******

You SAY you don't drink or do drugs, but you want to make it legal? Oh, such stupid child, I feel sorry for you!

drugs are not illegal. prohibited drugs are. =P

the thing is prohibited substance like marijuana screws your brain up if you get too addicted to it. if it doesn't hurt your life i guess it's ok...but most of the time it does.
