My friend played this kinda prank before. She approached a stranger and pretended that they were old friends. Just like on MTV boiling point! And the guy jus seemed confused at first but played along after that.

Yes, but when that type of thing happens, just smile, be gracious and say something like, "I'm sorry, I don't think I'm the person you think I am, but that happens to me all the time!" This way it will not humiliate the person who confused you and it will not make you look like a totally uncaring twit! Just be cool...

I've been on both ends. Play stupid and give a compliment and then follow with a question- "Gosh, you look great & you're face is soo familiar, but I'm horrible! I've totally spaced!... what was your name again?" or "Man, it has been a while- it's good to see you! Don't hate me for being forgetful, but... I can't remember your name to save my life!" Let them know you're friendly and open to speaking with them, and that you want to get their name right before you go on any further. They'll appreciate that!

kind of similar. I ran into this guy and was like damn I know him from somewhere. I could not share his face from my mind. I ran into him a couple months later again and he told me we went to school together about 6 years ago. Now I feel bad because I think we were really cool back then and I could not even remember him and he knew exactly what was going on with me back then.

Actually I've had that happen more than a few times. I am so terrible with names and faces! Yikes. I just pretend like I know who they are and go along with it the best I can. I can't tell you who they were, cause I don't remember!

Yeah it happens, they'll start talking to me even from far away, and they'll ask me how I've been, and then I'll ask them if they know my sister, and then we'll laugh and they'll feel a little embarrased. Thats why I always make sure before I say hi! lol
