i got a mail which says that a meteor will strike the earth in 2018 & that wud be the end of all of us!!!...I m too young to die.....lol...

Believe me,you dont need to be scared...meteors,comets,asteroids...they all can hit us anytime,aywhere...there is no specific time that a meteor is gonna hit....the fact is every year many very small comets hit earth but they dont do any sort of considerable damage that may indicate destruction of life on earth....infact there is an asteroid belt in our solar system and we are very lucky in two ways:first off,most of the comets or meteor coming towards earth usually just pass very near from the earth rather than going in its atmosphere..and more importantly thousands of meteors and comets are prevented from colliding the earth by the mighty jupiter which attracts most of them towards its atmosphere....
dont worry there isnt any meteor specifically which is gonna hit the earth in 2018 although events like these can happen and have happened before in the history of earth but we have the technology to atleast be aware of and be prepared for such an event...and besides there are other things happening in this world which are to be worried of till 2018...

There is a small probability the the 2018 meteor will strike earth, about 1:40000 if I remember correctly.
that does not mean we are all going to die. the methods to divert such meteors are being studied now.
As for myself, I'm 95 so 2018 looks good to me.

Do not beleive in this? No one on earth can even tell the exact date and time that life came to existence. So do you think someone can tell you the year when life will cease to exist?
That is the biggest lie on earth. Rumours have been so many - that there was a time when we were told that 1990 would be the end of life, later 2000 will be the end of life and my dear you can see we are still living.
This is nothing but all hoax.

There is an asteroid which will come very close to the Earth in 2018. However, it will miss us by about 25,000 miles and is no cause for alarm

Thats spam. But we might die because of the global warming not of a meteor and + meteor is just a couple of cm larget. To destroy the whole planet it need to be an asteroid not meteor...

OMG!!!! We have to start preparing now...call 911, call the media, start collecting canned food (don't forget the can opener) and batteries...Wait I saw on TV once they flew some off-shore oil rig workers into space and landed on a meteor and blew it up! I bet they can do it again...we have 12 years to plan it. Whew, that was close, I almost panicked...
