The reason you never see a council flat made over is that the improvements wouldn't belong to the people who live there; they'd belong to the council.

But you raise a good point. The other reason you need a larger home on these shows is because of the cameras. If you think about it, there are many people in film crews, and they can't all fit into tiny rooms and film properly. As a result, all of these programs have size requirements for homes and rooms. Strange, but true.

I have seen an ex-council flat done on one of the programs. There could be a potential legal issue regarding rented property, in that the landlord owns the property and can stipulate what can and cannot be done.
Also, some of the shows are 'part funded' by the people having the work done.

''Extreme Make Over - Home Edition'' helps families/communities in need, usually by flattening whatever is left of the house and rebuilding it from scratch. It's American, but Channel 5 (I think) used to show it.

That is a good point. Neither have I . I wonder how many people with money problems actually contact them? I guess they wouldn't give us that info.

Do not care for this, I don't think it's entertaining. Dog the Bounty, I like. Good night.
