Long story short this guy one night tells me that we're friends with benefits. Later on he tells me he's in an open relationship with a girl in Texas. Something doesn't add up because he tells me this after flew up to spend the week with him. I didn't know they where going out until then. I think why would a girl do that if there's no comittment or if they're allowed to see other people? I know he's had another girlfriend, and my friend whos married complained about him flirting with her. On top of saying we're fwb and seeing this Texas girl. So anyway I send an email asking her if they're really in an open relationship with this guy. Next thing I know I get a phone call from the guy saying he's upset because I asked her and that I'm not supposed to tell anyone when you're friends with benefits with someone and luckily she and him are very honest with each other. But he says he wants to remain friends with me becuase we have history. Should I remain friends with this dude?

Just as people have one night stands and just as people have casual relationships and just as people accept being friends with benefits, people have open relationships. My feeling is that anyone who does these things are just using people.

You have to decide whether his open relationship and his flirting with your married friend etc bothers you enough to stop being friends with him because he certainly isn't going to change any of that for you.

There is no reason why two people cannot be friends, without any jealousy.
It seems to me that you are confusing the idea of friend, and boyfriend. I have many friends who have girlfriends and boyfriends, but I'm not jealous of that, and I don't consider breaking off a friendship because of it.
Why should you?

I think this guy is a player. He doesn't respect you and your friendship at all. Stay away from him. He's nothing but a selfish jerk.

If you have no respect for yourself, or believe you don't deserve better than that then you should stay.
