If any of my friends are out there, I haven't recognized them yet.
I try and go for the response that sparks my imagination or inspires me to think of another question.
I often choose people I disagree with because they came up with a unique counterpoint and one time I chose someone just so I could tell them off for accusing me of lying.

If a friend answered one of my questions, I'd be most surprised, 1] because I thought the whole idea of having nick-names was to hide your true identity, and 2] I don't have any friends!

I love all my friends however I would still pick the best answers. A lot of people really do put time and effort into these things. Also so many people offer a lot of wisdom. Besides a friend shouldn't automatically assume they would win..

No. because i would have spoken to my friend before posting the question so i could not have liked their answer in the 1st place or i wouldn't ask it here

I don't actually know you so I couldn't count you as a friend. Therefore it doesn't matter one way or the other - but to answer the question, I'd say it would depend on their answer/advice... If they give a pretty dumb answer or just say "Hi", I'd say no ...

No. Friends give me poor advice at times anyway. I would reject a poor answer here just like I would in real life, no matter who gave it to me.

I only know of one friend of mine who uses Yahoo! Answers, and I don't know her ID. I won't ask, because I don't want to know. I have shown her some of the questions I've answered and gotten best answer on because we both get a kick out of some of it, so she sort of has my ID, but some of our questions are personal, and we'd prefer to stay anonymous. So, if a friend answered my question, I wouldn't know it was them.

Only if I wanted them to remain friends! ;)P
No seriously though, if their answer is crap why should you?
Although I probably would do, to show my appreciation of their loyalty. But my friends are all weird. There's no telling what they would do!
