No--didn't you see Bruce Almighty? That movie should be a lesson on how we hae NO business trying to be God. We'd just screw it up.

If there were some way to become a god than wouldn't everyone who chose to be one, would be one, than there wouldn't only be one then there would be many. This make believe world would be polytheistic, but what about the other people who chose to be the only god, then they wouldnt be god unless they accepted the fact that there were other ones. Some humans already believe themselves to be god. And Lucifer thought he could be god and tried to convince man that he could be as gods knowing good and evil, we already tried it, we do this every day by making the choice either for ourself or Christians who let God decide what they will do. Some people worship clothing, their work, their children, the trends of the media their gods don't even ask to be gods but people make them their gods. To answer your question if I could become a god, and have all power, all might and could create and control any and everything than I would be isolated because I could only control myself because in your world everyone could be a god and how would you have power over others? I wouldn't have fun because I'd be alone. So, no, thanks. Besides, God's doing a fine job. His ways are mysterious and delicate in the same coin. What kind of power hungry person would want to be a god? Hitler? Some people ALREADY ARE their own gods.

Yes I might, depending on what exact characteristics I'd have. But probably the first thing I'd do would be to self-limit myself to make it impossible for me to do any of the nasty stuff the Old Testament god was supposed to have done. Absolute power corrupts absolutely, and although I would have the best of intentions in wielding such absolute power, I would not trust myself nor any other person in existence not to either abuse that power, or to simply muck things up through unintended consequences. In short, I would become the god of a deist; deists believe in a god who created the universe, but then stepped back and adheres to a strict no-interference policy, including not answering prayers.
Once I attained omniscience, I might just choose to share my new godhood status with other like-minded individuals, under the same terms & conditions. Together we would go off elsewhere to create new universes, and to watch the infinite myriad possibilities play themselves out before us for all eternity.

well, I am already master of my own fate... to the best of my ability.
But yes, I'd take a flyer at being god. If it got to be too much work, I could split myself into myriad parts that I might have help (thank you R.Heinlein). If I got tired of the whole thing, I could create a new god... or post on YA to find a willing sucker.
And along the way, I could have fun. Maybe I would create a cross between a giraffe and a peacock. Imagine a vase full of those tail feathers!

What if, indiviidually, we are the only actual people in our realities. That is to say I am my own universe and everyone I come into contact only exists for the purpose of my existance and experiences and when they are not involve they do not exist.
The same goes for you, I exist to you now, just because I am communicating this answer to you. But once you are done reading it, and the question, my answer and I are long forgotten, I will cease to exist to you, unless our paths cross again either in a new instance or through your memory.
So with this thought of individual universes, we are all gods within our own domains.
*but to answer your question specifically, If i'm not already god but had the chance to do it, would I? I dont think so. I'm terrible at sim city and civilization, so running and actual universe would probally be a disaster with me at the helm!

What drives us to live our life to the fullest is the fact that we know we are going to die someday. What gives us the pleasure of trying to obtain something is because that something is out of our reach. If we were to become god, all those drives no longer exist, and there is no longer a goal or purpose for us because we become all knowing and all powerful. What good then is being a god?

I already am my own god(dess). I would not want to be anyone else's god. I believe in free will way too much for that. Besides, I'd probably smite folks just for the fun of it and then feel bad after. I have control over one tiny bit of the universe and that is all the godhood I want.

Wishful thinking at it's heights, tis called. It's possible on celluloid, believe me. No, I'd rather be a mortal and be thankful for all that I have. Being God is being unconditional in every way & it's humanly impossible.

No. Sorry. I was never ment to play God. I'd end up going against my own idea of "using power for the good of others" instantly because I wouldn't know what was "good" at that level of power.

Silly because there is no God, thus no one can become that entity. Your question is convoluted at best, and that old "Think outside the box": has really lost its effectiveness at this point.
