I got married 15 years ago and spent the following amounts
gold jewellry for wedding 1500$ canadian
wedding dress 280
Churchminister piano player
choir 500
food 150
wedding invites 0 (I telephoned to invite)
decoration of church 0 it was decorated for christmas
flowers 100
reception was held in my parents home (free)
#of guests served both hot and cold meal approx 150

wedding photos and video gift from guests
total cost of wedding 2430 dollars canadian not bad when you think 22 k gold jewellry cost 1500 dollars

USA...I would spend all the money I had available for the wedding on the party...I think big weddings themselves are a big waste of money...hundreds or thousands of dollars on a dress you wear once? So much money for bridesmaid dresses that are usually ugly anyway? Not to mention all of the stress...

If I had to do it all again, I would have taken the MONEY! LOL

My parents spent about $5,000 & my inlaws spent $1500 That was going on 16 yrs ago.
