Halo 2 Im getting my but kicked on xbox live..im new...what are the simple little tricks to help me get around

Im a little new. I know how to crouch undetected but what are the other little things that will help me out a little?

Well I'm not sure what games you play but most people like to play slayer free for all and team based and that is what I play most so I'll tell you what I can on the topic. First and foremost never pas up power ups. They give great advantages over your opponents with active camoflauge you can't be seen unless someone has a good eye or you are holding the sword or the plasm pistol. Also don't pass up the power items such as Sniper Rifles, Shot Gun, the Energy Sword, and the Rocket Launcher. The are all one or two hit kills here and can really add some kills to your score. It is also a good idea to aim for the head because they suffer more damage when shot in the head. Always try to have grenades, they are very helpful for causing a lot of damage quickly and are also good to finish of a kill because if you're about to die and you throw one most of the time if you took enough damage off of your opponent it will finish them off. Move around a lot when you are being shot so it is harder for your opponent to hit you. Always reload when you are alone and your ammo isn't full. Another important part of the attacks that new players often overlook is using the melee attack. This is very useful while fighting because it can deal just enough damage to finish off your opponent and when a melee attack is given to the back of an opponent it is an instant kill. If you have to but you don't want to use it you could use what thay call the "NOOB" combo which is the battle rifle and the plasma pistol, and when you charge the Plasma Pistol and discharge it on and opponent then pull out the BR and shoot him in the head for a two shot kill. Also my two favorite combos of to use are the SMG and the Plasma Rifle because the plasma drains the shield quicker and the SMG puts in the extra damage to kill, the other is the SMG and regular pistol to the head because i kills them pretty quickly. Thats about all I can think of for now on tips the only other thing is to practice a lot if you want to get really good. play in a bunch of unranked games and just figure things out that work for you and how to do different things. Practice everything and then when you feel like you improved try some ranked games. Don't forget to play the snipers games too because learning how to use the sniper rifle effectively will help you and everyone on your team. tips: 1.when you get close use the melee(b)2.active camo and oversheilds dont go together.3 reload after a battle there is nothing worse than reloading in than reloading in the middle of a battle.4 if you can melee the back of a guy it kills him. 5 the rocket launcher can lock on to vehicles. 6 know the map well. 7 plasma grenades stick and frag grenades bounce off walls you can swap them by pressing the black button.8 keep an eye on the motion tracker red dots are bad yellow ones are good

There are a few tricks you can use to improve your score, but the best way is to simply practice!

First, know your weapons. The shotgun is very effective at close-range (one shot to the upper body or head at very close range is lethal) but is not very good at medium-long range. The Battle Rifle is also very good to get to know, but only if your aim is good. With the BR, you can kill an opponent with three blasts to the head--anywhere else, and you'll waste lots of ammo and time.

Try experimenting with weapon combos. For example, the Magnum with the Plasma Pistol can be highly effective. Charge the Plasma Pistol and blast your opponent--this will drain their shields and leave them quite vulnerable to a round or two (to the head) from the mangum. Dual-wielding the same weapon can also be handy, depending on the situation. Two SMGs are good at medium to short range, but are difficult to control. Two Needlers are also handy for attacking a group because of the "pop" that damages surrounding opponents once the pins explode; two Needlers aren't as effective when you go one-on-one.

Learning the maps will also help you out--just knowing where players like to congregate or the location of sniper nests can help you not only take advantage of those spots but help you find the sniper if he's picking on you.

Don't be afraid to use your melee attack or grenades. Plasma grenades are exceptionally useful because of their sticking ability and melee attacks from behind are almost always lethal. For specifics, try gamewinners.com or gamefaqs.com. Good luck!
