How does a jeweler set a diamond,even when a diamonds surface is so smooth???What do they do and or use???

Diamonds are "set" by placing them into little tiny clamps that hold the diamond around the edges.

Only diamond can cut diamond.

They uses diamond saw (with diamond dust in it) to cut the diamonds and to smooth the surface.
