I think people in general tend to be most comfortable with people who look and act most like themselves. At one time suspicion of strangers and people who look different was an important survival tool but it's one that has outlived its usefulness. Nowadays it's important to know and understand people as individuals and not generalize about the various racial, ethnic and cultural groups.

Well, not all whites are racist.
Just some idiots, I guess, they haven shaved the imperialistic ideology of having colonies around the world. Having the thought of being the 'Supreme Race' who can controls others. Examples of such idiots are the Neo-Nazis & Klu Klux Klan. Basically, these poor souls suffer from inferiority complex which has a need to put down others to make themselves feel better.
In addition, there are some idiots who worships these 'Anglo-Saxons', thus fuelling their altered-ego (e.g. Sarong Party Girls aka SPG). These 'sad souls' are still living in the past colonised era, thinking that western ideas are always the best and like their forefathers, mentally they are still servants and slaves to the "White Race".
In the past, the media also plays a large part in these racist ideology. They always portray the 'whites' as heros or 'super-lovers'. In most movies / commercials, the other races are either portrayed as cowards, villians or some dumb sex machine. These casts usually die in the early part of the movie.

A lot of the black or hispanic people many whites see on TV or walking in the street give the rest a bad name. You can blame the news media or the police or whomever, but the reality is that white people are constantly presented with the view that minorities (especially black or hispanic minorities) are different/dangerous/lesser people.
Is this view correct? You tell me.
On the other hand, Orientals are largely seen as superior, and they still get picked on! Go figure.

i don't believe most whites are racists...please tell me whether or not you believe i am a racist by the following remarks i make.... it is wrong for blacks and whites to have children together... i believe most black women are ugly.. i believe white people as a general rule have a higher iq than blacks... i do believe the 2 races are different.. why, because blacks get diseases that whites don't. blacks have a shorter life expectancy than do whites... i would rather live in an area that is dominately white versus black... actually i would really like the idea of no blacks lived in the same town that i do... ok are you still with me???? good... i have no problems working with black men or women on a job site, whatever that may be... i have a few black friends, both men and women... i have loaned them money when they needed it. i have covered for them when they wanted to come to work late because they were out having a good time, i have partied hard with them... i have loaned out my car to a few of my black friends... and yes, i have stood side by side with a black man who i attended a rock concert with, not knowing him though, when some white skinheads wanted to **** with him because he was black...not only did i stand up beside him, but so did 2 other white boys who were also rock n rollers after i did... the 3 skinheads backed down.. the black guy thanked myself and the other 2 guys... i simply told him rock n rollers stick together, no matter what color the skin..... he just smiled ... that was one of the greatest moments in my life was seeing the look in his eyes when i made that remark.... so please tell me am i a racist???? i don't believe i am.... and my black friends and my mexican friends will all tell you to go **** yourself if you honestly believe i am... but you are entitled to your own opinion... just like me.... have a great day....

Fear is from ignorance and fear of the unknown causes people to be angry. Hate empowers people who dont have anything going for themselves. So by hating someone else somehow it empowers them to be more than they really are which is usually nothing. Hitler used this nationalization of germanys' problems to mobilize the german people against the jews to rally them behind him. This is nothing new, its being done right now here in america. Hate empowers those who have no power, it elevates people who dont have a life. If you can stand on another persons head doesnt it make you taller? Its wrong and empty and no one gains not even those who harbor hate. There is good and bad everywhere. Being a racist makes you somebody you're not by fooling yourself.

Archie Bunker from the TV show "All In The Family" was often accused of being racist. But, he wasn't -- he hated everyone equally :):) hehe
So if you hate everyone the same amount, that can't be prejudice, that's equality :)

Since I've never met a white man, or a black man, I cannot say if it's true or not. It's not genetically possible to be white or black, as Steven Biko would say not long before he was executed.

I think there are just as many black, Mexican, Korean, Chinese and every other group that is prejudice. You have to take each person at face value. If they respond in a prejudiced way then it is their loss, not yours.
