G'day,

OUch!! Most likely you will have to take it to a professional data retrieval. The first answerer may be work, but there are lots of things that may go wrong and resulting in you losing your data completely, or you got corrupted files, which won't do you any good.

The only downside of using the professional is the fee. They may charge you an arm and a leg, so please consider the value of your data. Also ask around, since some places do charge cheaper than the other.

Hope this helps. Good luck!

When you format your hard disk, you (usually) aren't deleting any of the data on the drive.. you are simply marking it for deletion so that it will be written over. If you haven't reisntalled anything on the disk, chances are you will be able to recover the files.
There are many programs available that will do this for you. Here are a few

PC:
File Scavenger:

WinUnDelete:

In most cases, it is possible to recover by using a certain software. And in certain cases, it is possible to find back data in your hard drive. Just go to My Computer then, open C. and open Document and Settings and there will be a list of user names. Just find the data from there first. only if you are unable to find...download a recovery software.

There is no way! Formating a hard drive is same as formating a CD-RW.
