"They" say it was because he pissed the Mafia off. Of course the government, probably the FBI, although some think it was CIA and FBI, had to help because otherwise they could not have gotten to him.
His girlfriend was Judith Exner, who was also the girlfriend of Sam Giancano, a powerful mob boss. She was also sleeping with Frank Sinatra at the time. He is the one who "gave" her to Kennedy.

Just a thought on the matter, drug companies and vaccinations were a hot topic with Bobby Kennedy and he knew that mercury was being put in the shots and is what causes autism and adhd.
