It tells us that the way we are going on consuming resources eventually resources will exhaust and human species will become extinct! So learn something and consume less but that will make economy slow down!
Choice is ours: live a consumerist life style or let future generations live!

It is very usefull in pushing government and private sectors towards the development of legislations, policies and programs that could address current issues of overpopulation or maldistribution of population in relationship with the dwindling resources and environmental degradation. It is a guiding principle behind the idea of sustainable development - meaning, we live a satisfying life today and dutifully ensuring quality of life for future generations as well.
