In a tropical country, what base/foundation should you wear? How about in colder countries? Are there any difference with the brands that sell foundations? What should I look for?

Powder foundations are a favorite in tropical countries to control oil and humidity. They want to look matte! In cold countries liquid or cream foundation are a favorite for hydrating dried out skin. Regardless of brand, look for the formula for your skintype and the desired texture/finish. From there choose one that matches your skintone as perfectly as possible.
Foundation is the most crucial cosmetic. If this is wrong you ruin whole look

Well I would check out Clinique, a makeup counter that is generally available at most department stores. They offer every type of foundation available to suit every kind of condition, whether it's for the summer or winter. If you also live close to a Sephora, I'd consider going in there. They have every piece of makeup you can ever think of and every brand and I'm sure that they could find you something that suits your need. If you don't live close to one, you can also visit them online at www.sephora.com. Bare Minerals, which you can find at Sephora, is a great product that goes on light and provides good coverage in case you're wondering. Best of luck in the search for the right makeup :)

The weather is important in the type of the foundation that you might use, but the most important thing is your skin type. Obviously, if your skin is oily, whether it is summer or winter, the foundation would not last on you. That said, many people do not wear foundations in warmer countries.

There is plenty of difference in the brands. I would definitely recommend buying an over-the-counter brand (Clinique, Lancome, Estee Lauder, etc) as opposed to a convenient store brand like Cover Girl, etc. Sometimes the cheap stuff will make you breakout or irritate,so it's worth it to spend a little more $. Go to the make up counter and talk to the rep about your face type (oily, dry,...). They will let you know what is right for you and match your color.
